This relaxed and serene island is one that beach lovers have been escaping to for years. The Maldive Islands are great if you want to really get away from it all and totally switch off from normal life. Lie back on a hammock or lounger with a good book and let the world drift by. The many wonderful species of fish and animal life are great to watch too – the many colourful bird species are a particular delight for many.
